Get Your Kids Active

It is recommended that children and teenagers participate in at least an hours worth of physical activity every day of the week.
This can be almost any type of physical activity. Some fun ideas include playing tag, a brisk walk with the dog, jumping rope, swimming, or biking.

The important thing is to encourage your child to do fun activities. This way, they can get some great excercise while doing what they love. That’s why sports are so wonderful. Kids can stay fit and healthy while having a great time and making close friendships. There’s nothing like being on a team to create a special comaraderie.

These activities have numerous beneficial effects on your child’s health. They include:

- a healthy weight
- muscular strength
- cardiorespiratory (aerobic) fitness
- bone mass ( This is gained through weight-bearing physical activities)
- healthy blood pressure
- higher self-esteem
- less anxiety and stress

A healthy and active lifestyle gives your child a positive outlook on life. Many studies have even shown that kids who are active do better in school.

As a parent, we hold very important roles in encouraging a healthy lifestyle. The most important of these is to be healthy and active ourselves. It is crucial that we set a positive example because children learn by what we do and not by what we say. Staying healthy can also be a great way to spend time with one another. You can designate time for family walks or playing active games together.

You could also take a healthy picnic lunch to the park. This way, you teach your child healthy eating habits and can also take a walk at the park after you have finished.

Take an interest in whatever sports your child becomes involved in. Root for them at all of their games. Tell them how proud you are of them.

Remember, you’re never too old to play, run, and dance with your children. They will never forget it.

Tips On How To Survive Participation In Extreme Sports

Posted By admin in Uncategorized

The popularity of extreme sports has blossomed and has moved from cult status to the mainstream of society. These sports, many of which were unknown beyond the small groups that followed them until recently, attract large audiences now due to the inherent risks of injury and even death. It seems that even the spectators benefit from the adrenaline rush that is received by the participants of these sports.

Some of the most popular extreme sports have been around for over forty years or more. Mountain climbing and biking, skateboarding and surfing are all considered extreme sports and have been around for decades. Skateboarding was actually invented by surfers who were seeking a way to cross train when the surf wasn’t up. These sports are now considered tame in extreme sports circles except for the niche extremes within them such as the big wave riding done by Laird Hamilton. This man surfs mountain sized waves over 50 feet tall that are so powerful he has to be towed into them by jet ski or dropped in from a helicopter!

With extreme sports it is very important that proper safety precautions be followed to avoid unnecessary injury and be as safe as possible. For example, most skateboarders will think nothing of buying the newest skateboard or new wheels and trucks but barely give any thought to safety equipment if at all. It is important to especially wear at least a helmet to avoid severe head injuries which can even prove fatal without a helmet. Here are a few things here that can help you.

If you or your child has an interest in participating in an extreme sport it would be wise to speak to someone who is regarded as an expert in that particular sport before you get started. They will be able to give you insider information and head off any mistakes you might make out of ignorance.

Unless you are from the planet Krypton and have a big red “S” painted in your chest, don’t think that you can immediately equal the skills and tricks that the pros in the sports perform. They all started in the same way that you are. No one is born able to walk and talk and learning one of these extreme sports is no different, it takes time, practice, and patience. Don’t rush out and try to accomplish a trick you see your hero do on TV, you may not survive it.
